I also agree that overcoming addiction is not something we can do on our own, but it's also extremely important to understand that it's not just about getting sober either. We began drinking and drugging as a way of coping with a much deeper issue and that issue will still be present after we are sober. My mother couldn't do it alone, and she couldn't even do it with our family's help. Not until we got here into C.A.R.E. Florida (http://www.careflorida.com) addiction treatment center was she able to finally achieve sobriety. I agree that you can’t always kick an addiction on your own.
